TTAN.IO Robotics Security

Physical AI Safety

Security for the boundary between machine intelligence and human physical reality.

Stop fast. Recover proportionally.

Physical AI changes the security question.

Traditional robot safety asks whether a machine can operate safely. Cybersecurity asks whether its systems and commands can be trusted. Physical AI adds another question: should this machine perform this action, under this authority, in this environment, with these humans nearby?

Functional safety

Local controllers, safety mechanisms, limits, emergency stops and manufacturer-defined protections remain authoritative for immediate physical protection.

Cybersecurity

Identity, command integrity, agent and tool security, policy, authorization, isolation, monitoring and evidence protect the digital decision chain.

Physical AI Safety

Human presence, competence, operational context and live physical risk determine what level of machine capability is appropriate right now.

TTAN.IO Robotics Security is not intended to replace certified functional-safety mechanisms. The Physical AI Safety direction adds governed security context around them.

Competence is contextual, not hierarchical.

A person can be a senior production engineer, an electrical specialist or a long-time employee and still be unqualified for a particular robotic cell, machine or task. Job title and tenure are not substitutes for operational competence.

Identity

Who is physically present and is that identity verified?

Qualification

Is the person trained and currently qualified for this robotic environment?

Zone authority

May this person be present in this specific area and under which conditions?

Task authority

May the person perform this specific task on this specific equipment?

Supervision

Is a qualified supervisor required, present and still within the valid supervision context?

Live risk

Where is the person relative to the robot trajectory, payload, speed, force and current machine state?

Authority ≠ Capability ≠ Competence. No organizational rank should override an active physical safety condition.

Not every human presence should produce the same response.

The objective is not “human detected → stop everything.” A useful industrial security layer must respond proportionally to the actual context and risk.

Normal

Qualified person, authorized task, expected location and acceptable live risk.

Restricted

Temporary access or elevated uncertainty can reduce speed, force, range or available capabilities.

Supervised

A non-qualified helper may be permitted only while a qualified supervisor remains present and the task stays within scope.

Protective action

Unsafe trajectory, invalid context or immediate danger can trigger rerouting, denial, safe state or deterministic stop.

Safety may interrupt intelligence. Recovery must be governed.

Immediate physical protection should never wait for a model to reason. When a certified safety mechanism detects an imminent hazard, it must be able to act deterministically. Governance becomes critical when the system returns to operation.

Immediate safety path

Designed for deterministic response when physical risk is immediate.

Safety sensor / controller → protective action or stop

Governed recovery path

Validate only what changed. Preserve a fast restart when the trusted context remains valid; escalate when risk or authority changed.

Safe state → context delta → validity check → proportional recovery
Stop fast. Validate proportionally. Escalate only when context changed.

Cybersecurity, AI security and human safety are converging.

As AI systems gain the ability to propose, authorize and coordinate physical actions, robotics security must protect more than the device. TTAN.IO Robotics Security is being designed around the full boundary: identity, context, policy, authority, bounded execution, human risk, evidence and recovery.

The AI may recommend. The robot may be capable. Capability must never automatically become authority.

Physical AI needs a security layer around physical consequence.
